Spice of Life Designs started in 2004 when a good friend noticed that I never followed a quilt pattern. I used a little from this pattern and a little from that pattern to get the look that I wanted in a certain quilt. Being new to quilting, I never realized that I was "designing" my own patterns! My friend encouraged me to start my own pattern company and Spice of Life Designs was born.
Living in small town Nebraska my inspiration comes from all kinds of things. Nature, books, even my dreams can give me ideas. My children are a great source of inspiration and my son, Nathan, has actually helped design some of my quilts. My daughter, Hannah, "sews" with me on a regular basis. My husband gives me color advice and built me a great design wall. Even our dog, Rudy, gets involved by lounging at my feet and tripping me on the way to the iron. We're a true family business!
